Tiramisu

Tiramisu is an iconic Italian dessert known for its layers of coffee-soaked ladyfingers, creamy mascarpone filling, and a dusting of cocoa powder on top. This Alcohol-Free Tiramisu offers all the rich, indulgent flavors of the classic dessert without the alcohol, making it perfect for all ages and occasions. Whether you're hosting a family gathering, celebrating a special event, or simply craving a sweet treat, this tiramisu is a crowd-pleaser that’s both easy to make and incredibly satisfying.
Ingredients:
For the mascarpone cream:
1 1/2 cups (375g) mascarpone cheese (room temperature)
1 cup (240ml) heavy whipping cream
1/2 cup (60g) powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 large egg yolks
1/4 cup (50g) granulated sugar
For assembling:
1 package (about 24) ladyfinger biscuits (savoiardi)
1 cup (240ml) strong brewed coffee, cooled
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for the coffee mixture)
Cocoa powder (for dusting)
Instructions:
Step 1: Prepare the mascarpone cream
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and granulated sugar until smooth and pale (about 2-3 minutes).
In another bowl, beat the heavy cream until soft peaks form.
Gently fold the mascarpone cheese into the egg yolk mixture, mixing until smooth and creamy.
Carefully fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully combined, creating a fluffy and light cream.
Step 2: Prepare the coffee mixture
Brew a strong cup of coffee and allow it to cool.
Stir in 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract into the coffee to enhance the flavor.
Pour the coffee into a shallow dish or bowl, making it easier to dip the ladyfingers.
Step 3: Assemble the tiramisu
Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture (just a quick dip to avoid sogginess). Arrange them in a single layer at the bottom of a 9x9-inch baking dish or any similar-sized dish.
Spread half of the mascarpone cream evenly over the soaked ladyfingers.
Repeat the process with another layer of dipped ladyfingers, followed by the remaining mascarpone cream.
Smooth the top layer of mascarpone cream with a spatula.
Step 4: Chill and serve
Cover the tiramisu with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, but preferably overnight to allow the flavors to meld and the dessert to set.
Just before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder using a fine sieve or sifter for an extra touch of flavor and elegance.
Serve chilled, and enjoy!
Tips:
Make it a day ahead: Tiramisu actually tastes better when it has had time to chill and allow the flavors to develop, so feel free to make it a day before serving.
Coffee Strength: Adjust the strength of your brewed coffee depending on how much coffee flavor you want in your tiramisu. Stronger coffee will give it a more robust flavor, while milder coffee will create a subtler taste.
This Alcohol-Free Tiramisu is the perfect balance of creamy, coffee-flavored indulgence, with just the right touch of sweetness. It’s a dessert that brings the comfort and elegance of Italy into your home, all while being suitable for everyone to enjoy. With its layers of delicate ladyfingers, rich mascarpone cream, and a dusting of cocoa, this tiramisu is a treat you’ll want to make again and again. Serve it chilled and watch as your guests savor every bite!
